Derby RSPCA celebrates 140 years!

This year marks 140 years of the RSPCA centre caring for the welfare of animals within Derbyshire. The RSPCA was established in the city in 1872 and for 140 years a committed team of workers and volunteers have been dedicated to animal welfare.  

We have lots of fantastic events throughout the year that we would love you to get involved with. You can do this by coming along to show your support, or why not volunteer your time with us by helping at the events? We always make sure we have great fun and appreciate any time that you are able to give. Take a look below at our calendar of events to decide what you can get stuck into this year!

 MAY 19th - DERBY RSPCA 140 DAY

Join us as we collect 140p from as many people as we can across the city in a one day fundraiser for the centre. See the RSPCA team dressed up, win prizes and help us tell everyone in Derby about the great work we do for animals in our region.

JUNE 3rd - DERBY RSPCA SPORTING EVENT, CARSINGTON WATER

Join us for our first ever sporting event, a 7.1 mile run around Carsington Water, followed by a sponsored fun run or walk for all ability levels, plus a kids’ event and fun day. Prizes to be won! There will also be stalls on the day so there will be plenty to do even if you don’t fancy a run!  The 7.1 Mile Run starts at 9.30am, the fun run sponsored walk entries start from 10.00am onwards and children’s activities will begin at 12 noon.

Entries in advance: £12 affiliated, £13 unaffiliated

Entries on the day: £14 affiliated, £15 unaffiliated

Send your entry to: Karen Carter, Derby RSPCA, 45 Abbey Street, DERBY, DE22 3SJ with a cheque payable to Derby RSPCA.

Entry price includes a memento and goody bag for all who finish. The entry limit is 350 runners, so sign up today!

THE FUN RUN / SPONSORED WALK 

We don’t mind whether you run, walk, crawl or skip! Take in the breath-taking scenery and enjoy the beauty of Carsington Water. Our 2.5 mile course starts and finishes close to the Visitor's Centre.

Enter on the day. You will be able to start anytime from 10.00am onwards. 

Entry price = £5 minimum donation per person.

 JULY 15th - DERBY RSPCA BARK IN THE PARK EVENT

We are privileged to be holding our Dog Show this year at Derbyshire County Cricket Ground – The event begins at 10.00am and will finish at 4.30. It will be a fun packed day with Stalls, refreshments, entertainment, dog agility and of course our fun Dog Show. Dog Show registration will begin at 10.30 with lots of fun categories to enter!
