Derby RSPCA is a local independent charity that is self-funded and receives no additional help from the government or lottery to help us care for and re-home the many unwanted, mistreated, injured or simply lost animals in our care. Our Animal Centre currently costs £7,000 per week to run and as you will appreciate it takes a tremendous effort to raise this amount of money from charitable contributions, bequests and fundraising.

One very effective way of continuing to survive these increasingly difficult times is to build working partnerships with local companies. This corporate assistance can take many forms with companies being willing to donate goods and services to help us to reduce the costs associated with running our Animal Centre. This includes helping us to raise income from fund raising events; to nominating us as their chosen charity fas well as monetary donations. These partnerships are vital to the success of Derby RSPCA, both now and in the future.

Smith Cooper IT solutions have provided us with an enhanced computer system that has moved us into the 21st Century! As well as updating our existing equipment they provided us with a new server and 2 new PCs and their technical expertise so we now have a functioning network and increased resilience. We would not have been able to afford to buy the equipment and time donated by the Smith Cooper IT team and the resultant improvement in efficiency from the computerisation of processes has made a significant difference to us. Smith Cooper have also donated time in the form of Marketing assistance to plan and organise a Wine Tasting Quiz event at Derbyshire County Cricket Club to raise funds for our charity – we had a very successful evening and raised over £2600. Derbyshire County Cricket club have joined us as corporate sponsors by donating the use of their facilities for free to enable us to undertake fund raising events. Our first event with them was for a Wine Tasting Quiz night which was enormously successful and raised over £2600 for the Abbey Street Shelter. We were very impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff which made the event run so smoothly. We are very grateful for the Club’s help and support.
