Volunteering Vacancies

At the moment we are particularly in need of volunteers at our Long Eaton Charity Shop on Thursday afternoons, Friday afternoons and Saturday 10am-2pm - please call the shop on 0115 9723551 and ask to speak to Jill, or pop into the shop at 95 High Street to have a chat!
Administration - limited availability due to office space
How about joining our team? We need someone who is willing to take on general office duties and be part of our lively team here at Abbey Street. Candidates will need to be computer literate. If you would like more information on the varied duties involved, please call Leanne on 01332 344620.
Animal Care - not available at the moment
Are you crazy about cats? Daft about dogs? Raving about rabbits? Potty about parrots? Volunteering as an Animal Care Assistant may be just the thing for you! Please use the above contact to register your interest and receive an application form, or come down to the Centre to fill in a form. We receive many applications for animal care assistants and unfortunately we may be unable to take everybody who applies on. At the moment we are quite full with animal care volunteers, although we welcome everybody to register their interest as we do have a volunteer turnover.
Belper & Long Eaton Shop Volunteers
Do you need a bit of Retail Therapy? We need people to help at our Belper & Long Eaton Charity shops. There are lots of things that you could do, either serving in the shop, arranging and restocking the shop, sorting the donations in the store room or even helping to organise the stock in our warehouse. To assist at the Long Eaton Shop please contact Gill on 0115 9723551 or call into the shop at 95 High Street, Long Eaton. To assist at the Belper Shop please contact Paul/Rachel on 01773 599196 or call into the shop at 21 King Street, Belper.
Dog Walkers
To keep our dogs active, healthy and stimulated we like to take them all out for walks. However this would not be possible without our wonderful volunteer dog walkers braving the weather and giving them some much needed exercise and love! We run regular dog walking inductions and if you're interested in attending we would love to hear from you. We require our dog walkers to be 18 years and above.
DIY/Maintenance
Are you handy at DIY? We are looking for people who can help out short or long-term with general maintenance around the Centre.
Driver
We don't need Stirling Moss, but if you enjoy driving then why not whizz along and help us out? We need people who can commit to specific days/times during the week but we also need people who are willing to be called out on an ad hoc basis. Can you help out in our hour of need?
Event Co-ordinator
How about joining our events team? We need a special person who is willing to assist in organising and running our key events - experience in events management is preferrred, although if you are an organised person you may fit the bill as well. Event Support
Would you like to help us during our events? We are always in need of volunteers to help us to collect and inform the public of our work and goals. We have a vibrant team, always ensure our events are fun and we never send a volunteer alone!
Event Ambassador
We are in need of Ambassadors who are confident and able to take new volunteers on events and train them up. Full training and support will be provided! Ideally you will have some previous experience of events. If you are interested then please call Leanne on 01332 344620.
Telephonists
We are currently looking for help answering our telephone! If you can commit one day a week to help us, and if you preferably have previous experience, then please get in touch. We will offer training and there will always be a staff member available to support you with queries. If you have patience, a calm telephone manner, good customer service skills and a desire to help then you could be just the person we're looking for!
