Sweet dog finds new best friends

Callie going home

Authored on: 15 December 2022

At just one year old, Callie was facing a very uncertain future, but thankfully, she found her way into the safety of our centre. It quickly became clear that she wasn't happy being left on her own and she would become very distressed without a human companion, which would make rehoming her a much more difficult task.

She struggled in our kennels, so our animal care team spent as much time as they could with her. She loved her daily cuddles on the sofa and her long strolls around Derby, but what she really wanted was a home of her very own. After several weeks of waiting, we received a very promising application and few days later, the family came in to meet with Callie to see if it was a perfect match...

It was! Callie absolutely loved them and they absolutely loved her! Their home life was perfect for Callie, who needs someone at home with her all the time, while she gradually gets used to being comfortable in her own company. A short time later, the adoption papers were signed and Callie was ready to pack her bags. Pictured above is the moment Callie walked out of our gates for the final time, as she went off to start her new life!
