The animals we rescue rely entirely on the generosity of people like you. We simply can’t help them without you. Please support our work by making a donation.

Work Experience & University Placements

We currently offer some work experience opportunities to students aged 16 and over. Due to insurance purposes we are unfortunately unable to offer work experience to younger students.

Work experience can be undertaken in Animal Care and Retail only.

If you are interested in work experience please take the following steps:

Animal Care

  • If you are a student at Broomfield College please contact Lauren Jeffries at the college directly
  • If you are a student at another college please contact Lucy Bell.

Retail

  • Our work experience students have the opportunity to experience the different areas of our Branch and have a sneak-peek into the reality of working at an Animal Rescue Centre.

If you are interested in gaining valuable work experience at one of our retail units please contact Jacqui Kelly.

UNIVERSITY PLACEMENTS

We welcome students from University who wish to undertake placements with us. Students have a unique opportunity to experience the daily workings of an animal welfare organisation. Please see the options below. (Sadly, we're not able to offer paid placements).

Animal Care

If you are studying a degree related to animal care, which requires a placement year, please do get in touch with us. We will be able to discuss the possibility of spending a year in our Animal Centre, during which you will gain valuable experience in animal care, rehabilitation, health and rehoming.

Events Management

Our Branch runs many fundraising events throughout the year and welcome events management placement students. We are able to give students a real, hands-on experience from the early planning stages right through to delivery of the event. As we are a small team placement students have the chance to get really stuck in and take responsibilities for events.

Retail Management

Our Branch currently has numerous charity shops and there is the option to join one of them if your studies are in this area.
