Daisy and Caramel’s transformations

When Daisy and Caramel came into our care seven weeks ago, it was clear they had been struggling for a long time.

Daisy, aged 12, and Caramel, aged three, arrived underweight and in very poor health. Both girls had extensive dental disease, ear infections, and sarcoptic mange which had caused fur loss and sores across their bodies. Daisy in particular had lost most of the fur on her body.

Daisy also faced a life-threatening emergency. Within weeks of arriving, she needed emergency surgery for pyometra, a serious infection of the womb. It was a lot for a small dog who was already struggling.

Since then, both girls have been on medication and medicated baths to treat their mange, and are receiving the ongoing care and treatment they need for their other health issues. Slowly but surely, they are recovering. Their sores are healing, their fur is beginning to grow back, they're gaining weight, and perhaps most importantly, they're finally relaxing and showing us their loving and sweet personalities.

Despite everything they've been through, Daisy and Caramel are gentle, loving girls who have shown us nothing but patience and trust throughout their treatment. They didn't deserve what happened to them, but they're getting all the TLC they need now.
