Finding hope in foster

Lacey’s Story
When three-year-old Lacey arrived in our care, her world was suddenly turned upside down. This small, golden crossbreed had been much loved by her previous family, but sadly they could no longer keep her. With her whole life changing in an instant, Lacey struggled to adjust to the busy kennel environment.
On top of that, Lacey lives with a neurological condition that makes her a little wobbly on her feet, especially when she’s excited. She doesn’t let it dampen her spirit though - she’s bright, affectionate, and eager to please, but it does mean she needs a bit of extra understanding.
We quickly realised that the kennel setting wasn’t right for Lacey. What she needed most was calm, consistency, and the chance to be part of a home. That’s when one of our dedicated foster families stepped forward.

From the moment she padded into their home, everything changed. Her fosterers welcomed her with open arms, treating her as if she were their own. They’ve managed her condition with patience and care, brought her along to multiple vet appointments, and most importantly, given her the love and stability she so desperately needed.
For the past three months, Lacey has been able to thrive in a home environment instead of struggling in kennels, and that’s only possible thanks to our amazing team of fosterers. Families like hers are absolutely vital to our work. They open their doors to animals who need a little more time, space, or support, and in doing so, they completely change lives.

Today, Lacey is a happy, affectionate little dog who loves cuddles and company. She still has her wobbly moments, but she’s full of character and is looking forward to finding a forever home of her very own.
Could you be the one to give Lacey her happy ever after?

Lacey would love a calm and understanding home where her new family can support her needs and enjoy all the joy and love she has to give.
